Former three-time champions of Indian Premier League Chennai Super Kings and also Rajasthan Royals will face each other at the 12th match of Vivo IPL 2021 which will take place at the Wankhede stadium Mumbai. Both the teams are going to focus on building momentum in order to keep a strong hold on the tournament. For CSK, it has been the return of captain MS Dhoni and batsman Suresh Raina to get back in good form. Raina made a cracking 54 in 28 balls in the previous match. Both the teams have however lost their first match of the tournament and won the second. Both teams will be eyeballing on a second win in order to keep themselves above the water.
Addition and expectation of some new players in both the teams
For CSK, they did not have Lungi Ngidi or even Jsson Behrendorff playing in their first two matches. However, the management of the team has informed the media that they will be back in the playing 11 soon. For RR, their team management has added Jayadev Unadkat and Mustafizur Rahman into the squad and they are highly looking forward to some serious game changing moments from the two.
CSK and RR in the last two matches
CSK in their second match against Delhi could not bag a victory because they had a slow start. The decision of Rishabh Panth’s Delhi fielding first went in their favour. For Rajasthan Royals, their first match against Punjab Kings could not bag them a victory in spite of captain Sanju Samson’s blistering century. However, they have won one match each and they will be looking forward to win some more in order to qualify for the play offs.
The players to look out for from both the teams
At the 12th match of IPL 2021 on Monday, RR will be looking forward to Sanju Samson making runs with the bat like he did in the previous match. There is a hope for RR fans that he will make a solid partnership with other batsmen like Jos Buttler and David Miller. Out of the bowling order of Rajasthan Royals, Chetan Sakariya has shown promising results while experienced pacer, Javed Unadkat is also on the look out for getting the team some crucial wickets.
From the CSK side, Skipper Dhoni was ducked out in the previous match and if he is willing to show some more promising batting for his team then he will have to buckle up and face the spinners to do some magic with his bat. From their team, Suresh Raina is another player to look out for because in both their previous matches, he has scored some significant runs for the team.
The main strategies for both the teams
The strategy for the Royals will be to strike hard in the first few overs as well as in their batting inning to make a significant score that might be difficult for the men in yellow to chase. However, team Dhoni will not let the first batting order of his team collapse like it has happened before in their first match.
