In the fourth match of IPL 2021, Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals with the last ball. Sanju Samson scored a century in the exciting match played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium but failed to win Rajasthan.
Punjab’s thrilling win
Punjab Kings started the tournament with a win by defeating Rajasthan Royals by four runs. It was decided to win and lose on the last ball in the match played on Monday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Sanju Samson scored his first century as captain but missed out on the last ball.
Talking about the match, the Punjab Kings came out to bat first after losing the toss and scored a strong score of 221 on the basis of half-century innings of captain Lokesh Rahul (91) and Deepak Hooda (64). In response, the Rajasthan Royals team did not have a good start to the chase, despite Sanju Samson scoring fast and important partnerships with Jose Butler, Shivam Dubey and Ryan Parag. However, no other player except Sanju (119) was able to play a big innings and in the end Rajasthan’s team lost the match by four runs on the last ball.

Sanju Samson has already scored a match century as a captain. This is his third century of IPL career. He has overtaken Shreyas Iyer (93) to score the most runs as a debut captain Click To Tweet.
